ความสำคัญของการศึกษาทางด้านเทคโนโลยีนิวเคลียร์ของประเทศไทย

Abstract

การศึกษาทางด้านเทคโนโลยีนิวเคลียร์เกี่ยวข้องกับกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ของประเทศหลายด้าน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นในด้านพลังงาน สิ่งแวดล้อม เกษตรกรรม อุตสาหกรรม ตลอดจนความมั่นคงปลอดภัย ไม่ว่าประเทศไทยจะตัดสินใจใช้พลังงานนิวเคลียร์ในการผลิตไฟฟ้าหรือไม่ก็ตาม การศึกษาทางด้านนี้ยังนับว่าการสนับสนุนด้านการศึกษาวิจัย รวมทั้งทุนการศึกษาสำหรับผู้ที่มีความสามารถสูงและมีความสนใจ บทความนี้กล่าวถึงการใช้ประโยชน์เทคโนโลยีนิวเคลียร์ในด้านต่าง ๆ โดยเน้นเทคโนโลยีที่มีใช้อยู่แล้วในปัจจุบันในประเทศ และยังได้กล่าวถึงหน่วยงานที่ควรมีบุคลากรด้านนี้ด้วย

Nuclear technology (NT) has been actively involved in various activities of the country related to energy, environment, medicine, agriculture, industry as well as safety & security. Thus, NT education has not been deterred by the country’s decision on nuclear electricity in the near future. Further advancement in the field requires financial support in term of research grants and scholarships for interested and worthy students. This paper describes the use of NT in various fields being used in the country. It also points out the country’s sector where NT personnel are needed.
